Five Reasons to get excited about the Fall
1) Sunday Mornings @ Rocklin Community Center 10:00am
Starting in September, we will begin a year-long series in the Gospel of Luke. In our religious culture of easy belief or cheap grace, Luke challenges everyone who reads his Gospel to Count the Cost of following Christ. I look forward to time together as we learn what it means to take up our cross and follow Jesus.
2) Tuesday Prayer @ the Lenane’s 7:00pm
Join us for prayer every Tuesday night at the Lenane’s. We start by sharing prayer requests and then SIMPLY pray. In the Gospel of Luke, Jesus is constantly getting away to pray with His Father and He teaches us to do the same. Let’s see what could happen if we committed ourselves to being a praying church.
3) Progressive Community Groups – Friday Nights 6:30pm
Coming soon to a house near you! Starting in October, we are going to meet for six consecutive weeks in different homes throughout the area. The evening will consist of good food, good friends and a good book discussion. We will be reading and discussing Tim Keller’s book, The Prodigal God. This book will open your eyes to explore one of Jesus’ most familiar parables. As we see both the rebellious heart of the run-away son, and the hardened heart of the older son, we discover the unexpected: The Prodigal God. More details will be coming soon.
4) Youth Ministry – Wednesday Nights 7pm
“Under Construction” Youth Ministries is excited about the coming events of the fall. We want to be “serious” about everything we do… serious about worshiping God, serious about learning to follow Jesus together, serious about reaching out to friends who don’t know Christ, and serious about having fun together every time we get together. From Wednesday nights, called “Elevate”, to our trips to Apple Hill, Bishop’s Pumpkin Patch, and other events, we look forward to knowing students and their families in order to advance the Kingdom of God.
5) Children’s Church – Sunday Mornings 10am
Preschool kids will be kicking off the fall beginning with the story of “Creation.”
HighPoint!, kindergarten-3rd grade, kids will be visiting Ecuador and Africa. In Ecuador, your kids will discover that real change happens on the inside as we ask God to help us be more like Jesus. In Africa, your kids will discover that gratefulness not only helps us appreciate God’s blessings, but also spurs them to give unselfishly to others.
Grapple kids, 4th– 6th grade, will be “grappling” with questions like: Why aren’t other religions okay? How Can So Many People Ignore God? Why do my parents always say no? What if Jesus is a liar? What if Jesus is Lord? What would Jesus play on His I-Pod?
