Here is an abbreviated list of events going on in the near future.


Elevate @ The Site:  Wednesdays, 7:00-9:00 pm

For all middle and high school students.  Come for friendship with other students and adults, come for good snacks and games, and most of all come to worship God with students from many schools and backgrounds. The SITE is a non-threatening environment where kids can come and hear of the love God has for us while have fun with peers.   This summer is full of mystery.  We are meeting in different locations and speaking on a variety of different topics.  Join us!

Weekend Getaway August 12-14

The weekend getaway is coming closer.  It is going to be a fun weekend for all.  We will start the weekend Friday night by going to the races.  If you have never been to sprint car races before, then you are in for a treat. Go to this link for a quick preview of what it is http://youtu.be/zmZ-nNYsmyA.  The best part is the rednecks in the crowd, so bring your mullet wig!  Saturday will be a relaxing day. There will be disc golfing, river swimming and other great adventures. Later that night we will go up to Mount Lassen and hike the peak Trail at night under the full moon.  It is a lot of fun.  Because of the abnormally long snowpack this year, it is not guaranteed the trail will be open yet. Crazy!!  But if not, we will do a river float, or a hike to some amazing spots for swimming.  Whatever happens, its going to be a fun weekend.  The cost of the trip is going to be $35.  This includes all entertainment, transportation and meals for the weekend.  Dinner on Friday is on you because we will be on the road, so bring some money.  We will be leaving Friday at 4 and coming back Sunday at 12ish.  

Because this weekend trip requires some kind of knowledge of who will be there, please let me know in advance if anyone will be able to make it.  There will be sign ups in weeks to follow.  The sign up deadline will be Sunday August 7.


Salvation Army

Every fourth saturday of the month, Providence is in charge providing a meal the homeless of Roseville at the Salvation Army.  This is a great opportunity for us to come together and serve our community.  Christ reached out to the broken, and this is our opportunity to follow in His footsteps! Please join us at 8am every fourth saturday.

The Salvation Army is located at 100 Lincoln Street (click link for map)

Why “Under Construction” you ask?

As Christians, we are all under construction in one way or another. God is at work in our lives to make us like Jesus, and this is a process that lasts a life time. As a youth group it means we recognize there is work to be done, that we have not arrived, and we are willing to allow God’s work to be done in and through us. The idea comes from Philippians 1:6, which says, “For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.” God begins his good work in us upon salvation and continues working on us for the rest of our lives – it’s a process! This is also a place to learn of God’s great love expressed to us in Jesus and His plan for our salvation.


A little bit about the youth guy

Steve Bolin has been the Director of Student Ministries at PBC since July 2010. He graduated from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago Illinois with a B.A. in Bible. Steve’s passion is to build relationship with both High School and Middle School students for the purpose of discipling them to be like Christ. He loves this process and has fun doing it all along the way! Steve loves the people of PBC and looks forward to many years of great relationships and ministry.
