Responsibilities at Providence:
My main responsibilities are working with a team of Elders to oversee the governance and mission of Providence, preaching and teaching the Bible in a way that leads to transformation , overseeing and directing the ministry staff and caring for the individual needs of people who call Providence Home.

Educational background:
University Wisconsin Eau Claire (Business major – did not complete)
Moody Bible Institute (B.A. Pastoral Studies)
Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (M. Div. Masters of Divinity)

Family:
I married Elisabeth (Yoder) in September 1991. We became good friends at Moody Bible Institute and got engaged shortly thereafter. We have three children: Anna Elise was born in 1995 and went to be with Jesus in 2000 after a four year battle with leukemia. Jacob Richard was born in 2001 and Elsa Anne was born in 2003. I am thankful to have a loving, supportive family that means everything to me.

What do you enjoy?
Playing golf with friends, day hikes with my family, reading and discussing books on theology and church mission over a hot cup of coffee, and watching college sports especially the University of Wisconsin Badgers.

Favorite Quote:
I see I am more flawed and sinful than I ever dared believe, but that I am even more loved and accepted than I ever dared hope.” Tim Keller

Favorite Authors:
C.H. Spurgeon, John Stott, J.I. Packer, John Piper, Tim Keller, Mark Driscoll, Larry Crabb, Jerry Brides, and Dallas Willard

What has PBC meant to you?
Being part of Providence has been an incredible experience. It started with a Bible study in our home and became an official church in September of 2005. I cherish the relationships that I have built and I am particularly grateful for the people who have given so much to make Providence what it is today. Having said that, I am even more excited about the future and can’t wait to see how God mature us and grow us by His grace alone.

Thomas Hale:

Responsibilities at Providence:
Diving into the Word as a lion would a meal, sitting quietly in prayer, and discussing scripture with those on staff at Providence and letting God lead me to the songs that His people are in need of singing/hearing on a particular Sunday.  Choosing songs is as important as writing a sermon so as much work (and the same processes) should go into the choosing of those songs.  Scheduling, prayer, Practice! Practice! Practice! prayer.  Living a life of worship.

Educational background:
Ozark Christian College  Joplin, MO                   (Theology-no degree earned)

Tulsa Community College  Tulsa, OK                 (AA in Liberal Arts)

Northeastern State University  Tahlequah, OK    (Fine Arts-no degree earned)

Family:
My family are those that do the will of the Father…seriously though I married the greatest woman ever, deb, in 2005.   Together we strive to live out God’s will, and hold hands while doing it.

What do you enjoy?
Creating for the Creator…Music…Art…Food…Reading…Discussing thoughts too big to have for such a small brain…and my wife of course!!

What has PBC meant to you?
PBC is a group of people who seek to glorify God together.  They are not caught up in the “big show” mentality, which is very refreshing…just a group of people who seek to love Jesus and walk together…Jesus is all we have to offer and all we offer is Jesus.

Get to know Steven Bolin:

Responsibilities at Providence:
My main responsibilities are to oversee the Jr. High and High School ministry at PBC. This includes “Elevate”, our Wednesday night gathering, Community groups, discipleship, service opportunities locally and internationally, and fun social nights like dinner and a movie or swim parties.

Educational background:
I Graduated from Moody Bible Institute in Spring of ’07 with a Bachelors degree in Bible. Moody was a great place to grow in the knowledge of God’s word as well as really defining where God has called me in life.

Family:
I have been married since July 29, 2005 to my beautiful wife and best friend Hope.  We moved to this area in June of 2010 from Dana Point California where we were blessed to be a part of Church plant.  We were both originally from a place called Paradise (near Chico) where most of our family now lives.  We both love this area and are very excited to be here.

What do you enjoy?
There are many things I really enjoy, and among them are: fishing, hunting, disc golf, watching a good college football game (go Cal), anything outdoors like camping, cracking open a deep theology book that challenges my thinking and traveling to new places I’ve never been.  I cannot get enough seafood and other fine culinary treats.  I really enjoy doing new things I have not yet experienced.

What has PBC meant to you?
PBC is a great place where people love each other (as the body of Christ should).  I have had such a great time getting to know people and serving along with them in all the different ministries we are doing.  There are a good number of people at PBC who have a servants heart and look for opportunities to see themselves being used by God in all capacities.  Family is a great word to describe the people of PBC!
